[Esoteric Order Duets] "Isn't It a Pity?" (Hunter: The Demon's Mirror)

Amy zeroes in on Mistress Black as the next link in her investigation of Dawn's death. But who is behind the wheel of that mysterious car that keeps dogging her every step?

(This recording had some issues with background buzz and suffered a loss of fidelity during the cleanup process.)

  1. Ah yes, the game that asks profound questions about the meaning of life and death. Such as "Which freeway are they getting on?" Nothing sets the Southern California more effectively than that particular recurring obsession of these podcasts.

Nice to see this particular "story" end on an interesting confrontation, and I can't wait to see if Amy's conversation with Karen has any ramifications when we return to Aaron's point of view. But when Desiree asks if it's weird for Amy to be behaving like this about Dawn's death - I don't know that I'd call it weird, but it's certainly not psychologically healthy.

  2. Ha ha! Yeah, the car culture in Southern CA is so pervasive it's a major part of our gameplay.

Amy is not very good at handling her emotions. She has dealt with a lot of loss over the past month, so she's really at her wit's end.

I gotta work on the timeline so we can make sure we know where AE was during this time and how the chronicles intersect.

  3. I am absolutely shocked that Karen did not go with Aaron. She's devoted to him and would be thinking of him every moment they are separated. He would be feeling the same.

    1. I think there's definitely room in the blood bond as described for some personal autonomy and long-distance separation (with consent). As you point out, they would certainly be thinking of each other all the time, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be joined at the hip, the way I see it. With Karen' venture...just getting off the ground, she wouldn't be able to justify leaving with Aaron, especially since he promised he wouldn't be gone long.

Besides, they're both Gangrels. I have to think Gangrel blood bonds work a little differently than, say, Ventrue or Tremere. ;)
