[Pendragon] Alternate Universes: The Rise of Sir Blains

Inspired by the recent releases of The Book of Uther and The Marriage of Count Roderick, we return to the world of Pendragon for an "alternate universe" look at Sir Blains and his efforts to win the hand of young Lady Ellen.

  1. This brief return to Pendragon was very luckily timed for me. I fell behind with the GPC earlier this year, and only managed to finish listening this weekend. I was going to offer belated congratulations to all if you, and it's nice not to have to apologize for doing so on an unrelated post.

Anyway, congratulations! I really regret not having the opportunity to comment on the later part of the campaign as it was happening. I'm hoping to make time to listen to your Vampire episodes in the nearish future.

    1. Hey, thanks! I'd noticed your absence on the comment boards and hoped it wasn't due to growing sick of our antics. ;)

      Glad you enjoyed the listen!

    2. And now I have indeed listened to the first Vampire episode.

Although one could never call it an "episode" in Vampire. Maybe "chapter"? No, still too unpretentious a word. Capitalize the first letter for no apparent reason, and, to be on the safe side, say it in French: "Chapitre."

Anyway, I very much enjoyed your first Chapitre. One question: I didn't catch when exactly it was set. Vampire for me is very much associated with a particular early-90's sensibility, but this felt a little earlier to me.

    3. I believe the time period is stated at the beginning of Chapitre the Second: things kick off in October, 1989.

  2. Whooo! Glad to see the return to this, next I hope to see the what if scenario of the Archadian Saga.

    1. I imagine we would have to time skip to after the duel. I don't think my delicate constitution could take another one of those.

    2. Pfft, Archade won that duel if it wasn't for Nimue's meddling Archade would have won even without Excalibur.

    3. In this alternate universe Nimue arrives to late and Archade has already struck down the false King.

  3. Unsurprisingly, Blains gets his win through gossip and buddying up to the nobles, as opposed to...oooohhh killing fifty Saxons.

I enjoyed returning to Pendragon once more.

    1. Dirtying his hands in any other way would be as crass as burning genitals into someone's fields.
