In the wake of Pippin's disastrous wedding feast, the group embarks (along with Charlemagne and his Paladins) on a pilgrimage to the east. After a brief shopping trip in Jerusalem, they travel north to Constantinople, where they encounter the legendary Emperor Hugo the Strong at last. We wrap up the session with a Winter Phase.

Since there was never a Byzantine Emperor named Hugo and the Emperor in 769 was Constantine "The Shit-Named" V, is Hugo supposed to be Constantine? Or was Hugo a later invention by later jongleurs who couldn't be assed to look up who was the Emperor of Byzantium in 769?
ReplyDeleteAh, never mind, it's addressed in the episode. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis appears to be the wrong episode. In fact this is Anno 770. I have checked a number of podcast apps and the direct link in this blogpost.
ReplyDeleteApart from that: Thanks for the great show, keep it up.
