[Horror on the Orient Express] Dancers in the Evening Fog

The group reconvenes in January, 1923 to attend a lecture on the topic of their haunted mirror put on by one Dr. Julius Smith. Amidst the freezing rain and chill fogs, disappearances ensue, the same man dies three times in one night, and the investigators set out upon a most hazardous adventure.

  1. My favourite fact about British shotguns comes from the No Such Thing as a Fish podcast. There is actually a minimum age now you need to be to buy a shotgun, and that age is 2. Not because they put that in law, but because buying one requires another adult to sign a form saying they have known you for 2 years.

    Bureaucracy!

  2. It's very strange hearing Jen playing a young man. I feel like she usually plays elderly academics (personally, I imagine those old inventors from Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang).

  3. Great stuff! Catching up slowly...

Shotguns in the UK are uncontrolled until the 1937 Firearms Act. What the sportin' gentleman would carry is traditionally a pair of Purdeys, exquisitely engraved, but they wouldn't be available in a hurry.

Islington is pronounced with a voiced S, by the way: IZ-ling-t'n.

    1. I'm looking forward to mispronouncing my way across Europe! ;)

(Thanks for the heads up, though. At least I know how to pronounce Derby and Dunwich--that counts for something...right?)

I also wanted to say thanks for the mention of boundary microphones. I've completely rejiggered our setup using daisy-chained Olympus ME33s and it's working out great! (See today's Orient Express session, just posted.)

    2. (Catching up slowly) Yes, that worked very well!
