  1. I've yet to find an end to a campaign that actually feels like a fulfilling conclusion, because if you've done a good job - and you all have done an incredible job - then there are going to be things that didn't wrap up, characters that you wonder about what happened to, or just the feeling that they could go out and have more adventures. Unless everyone dies of course, but then that's just the job for another group of heroes to band together and avenge them.

Thanks to everyone for posting this, and it was a blast to journey through the alternate hell-cursed wasteland of the grim and dark past. I think nothing summarizes the series like a discussion as to whether or not your characters might be the villains in this entire tale, followed by a suggestion two minutes later about how the plan is to trick one of your companions into following you into town, and then ritually sacrificing them in order to kill your enemies - as well as the entire population of Lost Angels.

Let's just say justice prevailed, and once again thanks for letting me listen to these recordings!

    1. Thank you for listening, Jake, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! When we started this campaign, I really thought it would clock in at around a dozen sessions. It went nearly twice that length and, as you say, could well have kept going for probably at least another 23.

In the end, this felt like a good time to put everything on pause. I expect we'll return to the world of Deadlands with some or all of these characters. There just aren't enough hours in the week for all the cool stories waiting to unfold... :)

  2. I finished listening to the Deadlands story just last night and I have to say I'm now torn between running Pendragon and Deadlands next. What a weird and wonderful system. What a weird and wonderful group.

    1. We very much want to return to the world of Deadlands. I have a suspicion it's what we'll play after the GPC wraps and we get through Horror on the Orient Express over the winter. The main question is: do we continue in the continuity of classic Deadlands, or flash forward in time and do some Deadlands Noir? Hmmmm...

    2. Since finding your podcast I've run one-shots of Classic, Reloaded and Noir, and I do like the Deadlands Reloaded the most, but that's because there's so much backstory and flavour to the setting, plus the rules flow better than classic and it's not hard to adapt Classic to Reloaded. Also I found a copy of Saddle Sore, and that's just a great set of missions, plus a town generator to toy around with. Noir is fun, but I tend to slot Spirit of the Century games into that time period so it doesn't click for me.

I'm hoping for a playthrough of The Lost Sons once you're finished with GPC!
